I have a john deere lt155 lawn tractor with a electrical problem. It doesn’t start by turning the key you have to hot wire it.The solenoid is brand new and it is not the key switch because it turns off when you turn the key to stop. I thing it is a safety switch seat,PTO,or brake. HELP any other ideas

Best answer:

Answer by Andybo
It is most likely a safety switch. You can bypass by using a small piece of wire jumped from one side of the plug to the other. I would try the seat switch first, as this is the one that is most activated. Then go to the PTO, and so on.

Answer by sgen707@sbcglobal.net
You don’t. The neutral safety switch is either on or off, typically an electric sending unit is the problem. If you can remove the inspection cover where the shift knob is located you’ll see in that abyss the sending unit. Should be located on the upper side of the transfer case.

I just but new belts on and I thought is would fix it but it didnt. Its when I get in thick grass the blades almost stop and the engian bogs down a little bit but not much. An I missing some adjustment somewhere that will will this. I was told with a electric clutch that it either works or dowesnt work no slipping with that. Can anyone help.

Thanks

Best answer:

Answer by Bill D
I am not familiar with that specific mower, but I own a couple eXmark commercial mowers and I know one of them I have to every now and then tighten the pulley (not same, for mine is drive pulley). I usually use a large screwdriver for a lever and then tighten with other hand. Again, I am not familiar with any John Deere’s….Good Luck.

Answer by iceman55mew
get the phone book out…look under gasoline engines..should have your local sales and service dealers in it..call them..find out if they are able to get this in another parts catalog..not the oem…I would take the muffler down to them?..there are times that I have been able to order a muffler or pull it off a unit in my boneyard…just has to be able to hook up to your unit right…so, do take the muffler..if it is a John Deere only part..you are in for expensive muffler!..but, given it’s a 111?..I would say it ’s probably in another parts catalog…do take that number so it can be cross referenced….
